Nightscapes Featured
It doesn’t matter if you have the most expensive equipment for night shooting, but I must say that it doesn’t hurt.
Nightscape images are long exposure blends and composites where my camera lens can be opened for long periods of time. I can shoot from anywhere between 1/4 of a second to 3 to 5 minutes, depending on my equipment’s capabilities and how I envision the final output.
Zion Star Trails (Composite) 2025 Up to 30 3-minute exposures of the sky were blended to create the colorful star trails. Taken with a Nikon Z6ii camera and Sigma 35mm f/1.2 lens. Blended the star trails with the foreground of Zion National Park.
"Milky Way Powered", near Death Valley, but still located in Nevada. Nikon D810.
"Another Hawaiian Sunset", you never tire of these gorgeous sunsets, as there's never a bad day in Paradise!
"Terry's Tree", Zion National Park. Named after Terry because she pointed out the odd shaped tree in the distance which seemed to have a rectangle cut out of it. Not really, it was probably a perspective thing. The tree was miles away from us when we took these photos. Nikon Z6ii
"Blue Hour over Higher Zion"
"Natural Fence", Zion National Park. Blue hour photo with enough natural light to see the details on the logs. This was worth jumping out of the car to capture. Nikon Z6ii
